Our dairy journey began with a simple purpose—to support our organic farming system. Cattle provide a natural source of manure that helps nourish the soil and sustain our organic cultivation. Over time, dairy became an important part of the farm’s living cycle, connecting animals, soil and crops.
Organic dairy farming takes a more thoughtful approach to animal care and the food they receive. Animals are raised with organically managed feed and pasture while unnecessary synthetic inputs are avoided wherever possible. Good nutrition, responsible care and opportunities for natural behavior remain central to the way they are raised.
Good milk begins with good care. From feeding and daily observation to clean and careful milking, every step matters. A calm environment, responsible handling and attention to hygiene help protect both animal wellbeing and the quality of the milk we collect.
At SIIR, dairy is part of a wider farming relationship. Animals, pasture, crops and soil support one another in a continuing cycle. By making thoughtful use of natural resources and returning organic matter to the land, we aim to build a farm that works more closely with nature.
